Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu started to groom herself, and after licking her foreleg a few times, she looked at the cub for a moment, and then she continued licking herself.
Re: Prologue: Arrival
"Here, in the Pridelands, that's how things work." Sarabi smiled proudly.
"...you... you named your lands?" Dabiku rose an eyebrow and then looked at Adimu, as if wondering if Adimu found that to be weird as she did.

Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu glanced at Dabiku just as the older felid looked at her. Adimu's head was slightly tilted and then she lied on her side and continued to groom while doing so. She wasn't really paying attention to the conversation her sister and Sarabi were sharing.
Re: Prologue: Arrival
Dabiku sighed at Adimu, who didn't seem to care at all, Sarabi then answered, "...yes, I didn't name it. Who named it died years and years ago. Way back then."
"I see..." she nodded, still finding it a bit weird, and continued to eat.

Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu stopped licking herself, and then she watched the two older lionesses and listened more carefully. She did pick up something about the territory's name being the Pridelands, but she wasn't too sure, as her attention was more on her grooming. If it was called the Pridelands, then that was a really generic name.
Re: Prologue: Arrival
Dabiku finished eating and thanked Sarabi. "...well, is that king... nice? For lack of better word..."
Sarabi frowned, and... she didn't know how to reply to that. Scar was... okay? He was nice to Simba and he seemed to treat the lionesses just fine so far. But... the hyenas. "...well, he's not bad, but things have been going down because of his pets. The... hyenas."

Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu raised her ears when she heard hyenas. Now that was strange. What lion kept hyenas with them? She tilted her head.
Re: Prologue: Arrival
"What lion would do that? I mean, keep hyenas close to their pride, family, cubs? I remember my father and uncle chasing them away from our prey. They're such unreliable, dirty, stinky creatures." Dabiku asked, but Sarabi was far from knowing the answer.
"I don't know, I just remember hearing from King Ahadi--Scar's father--a long time ago, back when we were cubs, that Scar was sneaking out to the graveyard, the hyenas' territory."

Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu listened more intently. Hearing about the hyenas was rather interesting to her, so she approached a little so she could listen better. So Scar was the name of the king? What kind of name was that? This pride was strange.
Re: Prologue: Arrival
"Scar? What kind of name is that?" Dabiku asked, once again. Sarabi simply chuckled slightly at that.
"It isn't his real name. He named himself Scar because of the, well, scar across his eye. He used to be Taka."
"Taka? That's even worse."

Re: Prologue: Arrival
Taka? That's a terrible name to give to a cub. Adimu's ears flattened. Why would his parents call him a name that meant trash?
Re: Prologue: Arrival
"You know, that name means trash, worthless. Why would his mother give him such a terrible name?" Dabiku tilted her head. She did name her daughter "hate", but hate was powerful, just as powerful as love. It wasn't all that bad, even though Zira probably wouldn't like her name one day.
"I don't know. But they did have some issues with Taka in the past."
"I don't know. But they did have some issues with Taka in the past."
Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu frowned. That's not good enough of a reason for them to name their son something so terrible, and it wasn't like they would have had problems with him when he was born, right?
Re: Prologue: Arrival
"Sorry. I don't know much about it. I do remember Mufasa picking on him now and then, but hey, we were just cubs."
"Who is Mufasa?..." Dabiku asked.
"My husband and Scar's older brother... he died." Sarabi said with a sad expression. "But that's in the past..." then, she sighed.

Re: Prologue: Arrival
Adimu's frown became more prominent. They named one of their sons king and the other trash? That was simply awful.
Re: Prologue: Arrival
"I see. I had brothers, but none of them were named 'trash' or 'king'. They had pretty generic names. I wasn't even that close to them. The closest one was my twin, but he left the pride a bit before Adimu and I did." Dabiku said, "I had sisters too. All of them half-sisters. Well, I guess that happens when the only males are your father and your uncle. Everyone is related there somehow."
"That's so weird... I never heard of such prides. But I've never been away from the Pridelands since I was a cub, either."
